Alberta Cancer Foundation

"Happiness lies within reach of those who reach beyond themselves."

On behalf of the Calgary Dance Stampede, we would like·to express our sincere appreciation to everyone who helped make a difference by donating to the 2011 Alberta Cancer Foundation Fundraiser.

A Portion of the proceeds from the event went towards supporting PREVENTION and SCREENING through the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

It is very important to the thousands of Albertans affected by cancer each year. Every dollar raised stays right here in Alberta ... and to date we have rased over $2,500.00 !!

We also want to take a moment to·say a·very special Thank You to Melissa Melville and all the people who helped her out over the weekend. Without their countless hours of preparation time, soliciting donations and setting everything up through the Alberta Cancer Foundation, this fundraiser would not have happened.

Craig Steph - Cancer Ring

Many top pros lined up to take the challenge.
As seen here, Stephanie McPherson-Robau
from Huston, Texas gave Craig Johnson from
Dublin, California a little "Swing" before getting into the ring.

On Saturday and Sunday the volunteers of the Alberta Cancer Foundation put on a fun fundraiser that got many of the top pros involved. "The Great 2011 Spin Off" was a contest to see how fast and how many turns you could do in a set time limit ...

But, there was a catch ??  You had to spin your partner wearing boxing gloves !!  Yes, a full size boxing ring was set up in the main ballroom between competitions and contestants would take there turns spinning each other for some great prizes and the title of "Calgary's Best Spinner or Spinee".
