With The Calgary Dance Stampede 2010 fast approaching, we are asking for your assistance again in continuing to make this the biggest and best combined Country, Swing and Line Dance event in Canada.

As always, the Calgary Dance Stampede is striving to improve every aspect of the event. And in so doing, changes have been made this year to include an awesome new downtown venue with a significantly better layout, larger main ballroom and more workshop space. Plus 3 exciting nightly social dances including separate Country, Swing and Line dance rooms. And don’t forget our amazing team of professional instructors!

With the new venue comes the opportunity to smooth the traffic flows and minimize the requirement for door monitors. There will also be a pre-event volunteer team “training” party; a new volunteer information guide and an improved volunteer coordination and communication system. I think everyone will be impressed with the way it is going to work this year.

A huge thanks goes out to everyone who has volunteered over the years. Without your dedication and the experience you bring to this event, Keith & Jena would not be as successful in promoting country, swing and line dancing in our community as they are… Your love for dance shows when you volunteer for an event like this!

There is a SUBMIT FORM button at the bottom right hand corner of the form. Once you have completed the form, just hit this button and follow the instructions provided as follows;

Option 1; Desktop Email Application:
Choose this option if you currently use an email application such as Microsoft Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook, Eudora or Mail.

Option 2; Internet Email:
Choose this option if you currently use an Internet email service such as Yahoo or Hotmail. You will then need to save your form and return it manually to volunteers@calgarydancestampede.com using your internet mail service.

Volunteers are needed for the following positions;

• Check for wrist bands & tickets at the doors for general admission, workshops and dances.
• Assist in setting up the main ballroom dance floor.
• Set up of decorations on Friday before the event starts.
• Setting up the ballroom & seating guests for the Campfire show on Saturday night
• Re-setting the decorations before the competitions on Sunday morning
• Assist in tearing down the main ballroom dance floor after the event.
• Cleaning up after the event on Sunday afternoon.

Volunteers are required throughout each day so please let us know what hours and which duties you would be interested in volunteering for. Your participation may be from 1 hour (covering a single shift) to several hours (covering multiple shifts).

All our volunteers who give 6 or more hours of their valuable time will receive up to $5.00/day reimbursement towards parking or transit expenses (receipt required).
